Winona County Recorder

County Location in Minnesota
IN RESPONSE TO THE COVID-19 OUTBREAK, THE OFFICES OF THE RECORDER & VITAL RECORDS ARE TEMPORARILY CLOSED FOR WALK IN SERVICES.

ALSO, AT THIS TIME WINONA COUNTY IS NOT PROCESSING MARRIAGE LICENSE APPLICATIONS.

Staff continue to be in the office to provide phone and email assistance and document recording.
Electronic submission is recommended for prompt recording, but paper documents will also be processed.
A drop box is located on the west side of the County Office Building outside the west doors.  Envelopes left in the drop box will need to be clearly labeled for the Recorder's Office and/or Vital Records.
These temporary measures are being taken to protect the health and safety of our customers and our staff.

The Recorders office is responsible for the permanent recording and efficient retrieval of real estate title records. These documents include deeds, contracts, mortgages, probate documents, etc.
