About

Today Stone Point Park is 400 acres of undeveloped ridgetop and blufflands in southeast Minnesota, just two miles south of the City of Winona in Wilson Township. Stone Point Park currently hosts more than 8 acres of gardens that serve area market gardeners, Master Gardeners and community gardeners.

Once fully developed, the park will provide visitors access to 300 acres of upland prairies and woodlands for hiking and birding, and to Winona’s first dog park.

Master Plan

Members and staff of Winona County’s Parks and Environment Advisory Committee spent much of 2011 and 2012 developing a management plan for the park. The plan recommends the development of low-impact walking/hiking trails for the park, along with educational displays on its geography, native fauna and flora, and pioneer and pre-history settlements. A link to the Conceptual Master Plan is below.

The Stone Point Conceptual Master Plan (PDF) was adopted by the Board of Commissioners in October, 2013. County staff is currently seeking grants to fund development of the park.
